Aintree University Hospital Foundation Trust has selected a supplier to provide employment administration services such as payroll.
NHS Shared Business Services (SBS) will deliver payroll and pensions requirements for the Trust’s 4000 employees.
The organisation is a joint venture between the Department of Health (DoH) and IT business services provider Steria which claims to have achieved its target of delivering £224m cost savings to the NHS by 2015.
NHS SBS claims it will provide a streamlined and efficient service that will free-up the time of in-house staff to spend on more value-added activities under the £1.2m contract.
It adds that its contract with Aintree Trust underlines the growth of its employment services division which now works with 73 NHS clients, paying more than 200,000 employees with a claimed accuracy rate of 99.8%.
“I have been impressed with the professional way in which the transition has been managed. We are confident that Aintree has made the right decision in selecting NHS SBS to provide our payrolls and pensions services,” claimed the Trust’s HR project manager Alan Evans.
“It has been vitally important to provide a smooth transition of services and this has been successful, partly because of the close working partnership we have established,” added NHS SBS director of employment services Tasy Warn.
“This partnership will continue as our team becomes an extension of [Aintree’s] in-house team,” Warn claimed.
This news follows last month’s news that Worcester Acute Hospitals NHS Trust had selected NHS SBS a pensions and payroll contract.
