Software, technology and outsourcing services specialist Civica thas announced the appointment of Ed Welsh, formerly executive director of transformation at the Cabinet Office, as UK government advisor.
Welsh brings extensive experience of government efficiency and reform, most recently as director of transformation in the Cabinet Office from 2012 to 2015, to the job, the firm says.
In that role, it points out, he led numerous initiatives including improving the way government partners with the private sector, establishment of back-office shared services and working with the government’s chief operating officer and then its CEO to reform commercial functions and deliver more services digitally.
Prior to the Cabinet Office Ed worked as a managing director at financial advisory group Rothschild. As global co-head of Business Services, he was responsible for the provision of advice on mergers and acquisitions, company flotations and debt related matters.
