Coventry City Council has selected a supplier to deliver support for its revenues and benefits IT systems.
After a procurement process that included incumbent supplier Capita, the local authority selected business process services provider Civica for a three-year partnership.
Under the contract, Civica will manage Coventry’s third party systems including benefits and revenues software from Capita and document management from Northgate Public Services.
The firm will also be delivering general IT support to the council, as well as the provision of off-site processing support via Civica’s OnDemand service.
“We’re in the midst of making some challenging changes, so it was important for us to select the right transformation partner to help us,” claimed Coventry’s head of revenues and benefits Tim Savill.
“Civica’s breadth of knowledge and understanding of the issues facing local authorities makes them an important partner for automating and transforming critical council services such as revenues and benefits,” he added.
The firm will deliver its service from the Pershore Orchard Centre, a part of a strategic partnership with the South Worcestershire Revenues and Benefits Shared Service with Malvern Hills District Council, Worcester City Council and Wychavon District Council.
The Civica and Coventry service partnership builds on the foundation of the South Worcestershire partnership, which following on from its successful first year, currently provides support to 15 local authorities together with the Department for Education.
“We are delighted to be working in partnership with Coventry City Council and as an extension of our support for South Worcestershire Councils,” claimed Civica managing director Gary Bell.
“Building on our extensive experience in driving IT-enabled business process improvements, we will continue to safeguard jobs in the region while driving savings, innovation and growth,” he added.
