Derwentside College Overhauls Financial Systems

Sep 03, 2014

County Durham-based Derwentside College has selected software solutions provider UNIT4 to provide it with financial and procurement systems.

According to the supplier, its Agresso Finance and Agresso Procurement products will help the education organisation adapt change within the sector more easily.

“In the current climate of fiscal restraint and further education funding cuts, colleges are increasingly being asked to deliver more and better for less,” claimed Chris Todd, director of finance and resources at the college.

“The executive team here at [Derwentside] recognise this and through the implementation of Agresso, we believe we are well placed to rise to the challenges that lie ahead,” he added.

The college decided to move away from its incumbent system because it required the latest technology to make it more competitive and modern in its approach to financial operations.

“Better reporting and flexible work-flows will allow us to embed a more financially aware culture, freeing up resources in order to further invest in the enhancement of the student experience,” claimed Todd.

Software “To Benefit Both Staff And Students”

The college aims to provide high quality education and training opportunities to students, allowing them to reach their full potential.

UNIT4 claims that its systems will help the institution achieve this by providing budget holders with tools required to make better informed decisions and improve the execution of financial strategy.

The company says that its Agresso platform provides more convenience for the college’s employees – for example, budget holders will now be able to access the solution from any device regardless of location.

It also believes it can provide improved reporting, as well as an enhanced analysis capability that allows staff to easily explore valuable and reliable information.
