HM Treasury Drives Forward ICT 2015 Programme

HM Treasury has chosen a provider of IT services for its ICT 2015 programme – Japanese technology solutions company NTT Data.

The Department began the scheme in December last year with a tender for IT services that claimed the organisation was moving away from a large, single supplier for technology services. 

NTT Data says it will provide the Treasury with management an oversight of the ICT 2015 programme in a three-year contract, including coordination of other providers, cloud hosting services and applications re-platforming.

According to the firm, it can provide Treasury users with “complete confidence” in availability, security and effectiveness of their IT services.

The company’s head of public sector and financial services, Anna Price, pointed out that this is the first time her organisation has secured a major contract with Whitehall.

“We embrace the opportunity afforded by the UK government IT strategy and our services are designed to capitalise on standard, cost effective, utility based services that are G-Cloud accredited,” Price claimed.

“NTT Data has a rich heritage of working with government and financial services around the world and we are delighted to have been selected by HM Treasury,” added the firm’s UK CEO, Steve Mitchener.

HM Treasury Hopes Deal Will Drive Transformation

HM Treasury CIO Karen Delafield noted that the company is involved in the delivery of core IT services, claiming that this is the biggest Tower in the organisations new operating model.

Delafield claimed NTT Data was chosen for its capability, energy and commitment, with the hope that it will drive transformation over the next three years.
