UK VOIP Provider Launches £20,000 Grant Scheme For Entrepreneurs

Oct 23, 2014

A UK VOIP provider for SME and corporate businesses has launched a new business start-up grant scheme for entrepreneurs in the IT and telecoms industry.

alphaTALK will initially operate its scheme in the West Midlands, but aims to roll it out nationwide next year.

The firm intends its £20,000 business grant to inspire business innovation, creativity and leadership within the IT and telecoms industry.

alphaTALK claims it will be awarding the grant to the entrepreneur with the most outstanding business idea – it seeks applications for a commercially viable idea that has a scalable business model.

The firm adds that preference will be given to unique ideas that do not just offer a similar service to the rest of the competition.

It hopes its investment will give the winning business venture a flying start with the support and investment it requires.

“We Want To Encourage Innovation”

“This innovation scheme is a demonstration of alphaTALK’s commitment towards encouraging and developing new talent,” claimed Zafar Majid, the company’s director.

“This is the age of the entrepreneur and we want to recognise that. We believe there is a lot of new IT talent which needs to be brought to the forefront with such investment schemes,” he added.

The closing date for applications for the innovation grant is 28th January 2015, after which a shortlist of 25 applicants will be drawn up in March 2015.

In May 2015, five finalists will be invited to pitch their business ideas to a panel of experts in the area and the winner, announced during the same month, will take away a £20,000 business grant.
