Wigan Council Prepares To Drive Process Efficiency And Cost Reduction

Dec 11, 2014

Wigan Council has selected a new invoice solution to aid its objectives of driving process efficiency, automation and transformation within the Accounts Payable and Purchase to Pay processes.

Software solutions provider UNIT4 will deliver its Invoice4 product to the local authority, enabling it to scan incoming paper invoices and automatically import invoices received by email.

The firm claims Invoice4 will use intelligent data capture technologies to extract key information and identify invoice exceptions at the earliest opportunity.

It adds that purchase invoices will be received into the UNIT4 ERP solution faster, with less effort and greater accuracy, as well as providing easy and rapid access to the electronic images already heled in the council’s existing ERP solution.

UNIT4 Offers “Refreshing” Options

“We have been looking at what further improvements could be made to the Accounts Payable and Purchase to Pay processes, with a key objective being to make the processes more efficient,” claimed Richard Gibson, strategic finance management for financial transactions and systems at Wigan Council.

“As a UNIT4 customer, we explored a number of options, but found that the Invoice4 solution addressed all of our key requirements.

“We needed something that would seamlessly integrate and provide us with a scalable platform, addressing our key current requirements but also providing us with peace of mind that the solution will match our future needs.

“It was also refreshing to see that Intelligent Capture and UNIT4 had developed a strong strategic partnership, delivering a solution designed specifically to address UNIT4 customers’ needs,” he added.
