Worcester Acute Hospitals NHS Trust has awarded a five-year contract to NHS Shared Business Services (NHS SBS) to deliver payroll and pensions administration.
NHS SBS provides business support services such as finance and accounting, employment services, procurement and primary care services to Health Services in the UK.
It claims its £1.2m contract with Worcs will create significant cost savings for the Trust, both immediate and on-going efficiencies.
NHS SBS will be deploying its dedicated specialist delivery team while adopting LEAN-driven processes and technology improvements.
The Trust will be using the firm’s web-based ePay solution which was developed in partnership with NHS clients to improve the accuracy of recording timesheet and expenses data.
The Worcs contract builds upon existing growth for NHS SBS employment services – the organisation currently processes more than two million payroll transactions each year on behalf of 78 NHS clients with a reported 99.8% accuracy.
The firm claims it has become the “go-to” expert on auto enrolment for 34 clients, adding that this has ensured a smooth transition to meet new rules on behalf of 23,100 Health Service employees.
“We’ve looking forward to supporting Worcester Acute Hospitals and becoming an extension of the in-house team,” claimed Tasy Warn, NHS SBS director of employment services.
“This builds on our philosophy for combining the efficiencies that can be derived from shared services while still maintaining a flexible, personalised service,” Warn added.
