Labour MP Stephen Twigg has appeared before the House of Commons to explain the reservations he has about the Individual Electoral Registration (IER) scheme.
Since introducing Individual Voter Registration (IVR), it has been reported that around 5.5 million people are missing from the Electoral Register and may be unable to vote in the General Election.
The government claims that over one million users have registered to vote via a new online system, leaving positive feedback.
