Bull To Deliver IT Services To South Lanarkshire

French IT services firm Bull has bagged a contract with South Lanarkshire Council to manage its IT infrastructure and datacentres.

In a five-year, multimillion pound deal, the company will be responsible for providing the local authority with sever and storage services.

The contract replaces the council’s previous agreement that was up for renewal and it hopes Bull will be able to increase Agility and improve public services.

“The council is looking forward to a successful relationship with Bull to deliver the server and storage supply and support services covered by this contract,” claimed acting head of IT services at the authority Martin Low.

It is the first time that Bull and South Lanarkshire have worked together and there is the option to extend the contract for a further two years.

Community To “Benefit”

The local authority’s core infrastructure includes two datacentres which Bull will primarily focus on. It claims it will use both centres and bring new business to the local community.

The council says that it opted to choose this company because it offered a complete on-site monitoring service as well.

“South Lanarkshire Council is a forward-looking organisation with an innovative vision of how they want to use IT to forward their future goals,” claimed Andrew Carr, Bull CEO.

“We are delighted to be further extending our relationship with the council to deliver operational efficiency, value for money and also re-establishing our service delivery presence in Scotland,” he added.

In May this year, Bull was acquired by fellow Gallic company Atos.
