Cabinet Office Seeks CDO And “Digital” Talent

The Cabinet Office is seeking a new chief digital officer (CDO), among other “digital and technology talent.”

According to a job advert, the Department’s CDO is a high profile position with “significant visibility and influence” both within the Office and across government.

Those applying for the role are expected to provide leadership to a new and involving in-house Digital and Technology team.

They will be responsible delivering world-class, flexible and responsive digital and technology services to meet the demands of business-critical users.

“We are looking for a moderniser, an exceptional technologist who will push a progressive digital and technological agenda,” claims the job posting.

“The successful candidate will demonstrate their proven experience in the successful delivery of digitally-led business transformation programmes.

“As a strong leader and exceptional communicator, you will have the gravitas to rapidly gain the confidence of government as a highly effective digital advocate,” it adds.

The job listing also reveals that the expected salary can range from £62,000-£117,800, but most likely around the £90,000 mark.

Other Digital And Technology Positions

Meanwhile, a blog post on the Cabinet Office technology blog reveals it isn’t just a CDO the Department is in need of.

“We’re looking for talented, passionate and enthusiastic individuals who are excited by the challenge of delivering digital and technology services,” writes Brett Johnson, an internal recruitment specialist in the Cabinet Office.

In the blog post, Johnson explains how the Department is restructuring its internal digital and technology team with the intention of “bringing top digital and technology talent back into the Civil Service to iterate and continually improve.”

The new internal department for technology will consist of five teams: digital engagement, delivery, architecture, service operations and business operations.
