Capita Offering Microsoft Apps Via G-Cloud

Jun 27, 2014

IT services provider Capita has announced it will be offering Microsoft productivity applications to the public sector via G-Cloud 5.

When browsing the Cloudstore, organisations will have access to the Capita Productivity Hub, which enables a buyer to use the IT giant’s tools, including Outlook, Lync, Sharepoint, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

The new service is delivered via Capita Private Cloud – launched last year – which the firm claims gives organisations the ability to increase productivity by offering trust on-the-go applications on a device of their choice.

The IT firm says its cloud offerings can be adapted to customer needs, whether that’s a public, private or hybrid solution.

It adds that buyers will have access to the latest versions of the apps they purchase, but will also benefit from knowing these are being used in a UK-based, secure environment.

Capita “Delivers What The UK Public Sector Wants”

“We are proud to be able to offer our services via the G-Cloud framework, which offers the public sector innovative, cost-effective solutions from a range of suppliers and presents an opportunity to reduce the cost of their total IT spend,” claimed Peters Hands, Capita executive director.

“Public sector organisations want the ability to use the cloud delivery model that suits them, but without the headache of managing it. Capita Productivity Hub is a testament to this, offering applications via a private cloud infrastructure with all data stored in [our] UK data centres,” he added.

Capita claims to be one of the only UK companies able to offer popular Microsoft applications via private cloud as it is a member of the IT giant’s Global cloud OS Network.
