cloudBuy Chairman and CIO to Speak at Public Sector Cloud Conference

Feb 06, 2014

Cloud eCommerce marketplace cloudBuy Chairman and CIO Ronald Duncan will deliver a speech at THINK Cloud for Government 2014 as part of a partnership between the company and a specialist UK conference series, THINK Events.

THINK Events is a series of conferences and smaller gatherings that claims to help encourage debate and discussion surrounding the latest developments in the cloud industry.

Duncan will advise on using public sector as a basis for best practice in cloud adoption at the event in March, which seeks to connect the 300 senior government officials in procurement and IT.

“The UK public sector leads the way in the adoption of innovative technology that promotes cost and sustainability efficiencies,” said the industry veteran.

“For example, the G-Cloud procurement programme is a genuinely groundbreaking achievement that is being monitored closely by the public sector in other territories. We welcome this opportunity to share best practice with such an impressive array of delegates.”

The THINK Cloud website claims that public sector IT has been dominated by long running, expensive contracts for decades but cloud computing is changing this.

THINK Events said, “We are really excited about working with cloudBuy as a lead sponsor for Think Cloud for Government 2014.

“In recent years we have worked very closely with our lead sponsors, such as Microsoft, IMB and Salesforce to ensure that our overall content for the event is engaging and relevant for our delegates.

“This year’s government event has the strongest speaker line up and agenda to date and with record registrations, we are very much looking forward to it.”
