Aberdeen is now home to Scotland’s first Gigabit City – a project that aims to provide areas in need with fibre network infrastructure.
Telecommunications giant BT is currently working on spreading its fibre optic network across all of the UK, including villages and rural areas, before the end of 2017.

Gigaclear, the broadband supplier focusing on rural areas of England, is currently trialling the high-speed fibre broadband service with selected customers, with a full-scale launch expected early next year.
