The launch of a new industry standard for green bills, which will increase efficiency, save money and save carbon hosted by Konrad Bartelski

9:30am for 10:00am, Tuesday 15th November 2011
The Royal Society of Arts, Durham Street, off The Strand, London, WC2N 6EZ
Nearest tube stations: Charing Cross and Embankment

Automated systems for analysing and exchanging green information are already saving the pilot organisations billions of pounds each year. The standard provides an easy way to roll out these benefits to all organisations and is fully compliant with the new Greenhouse Gas Protocol.

Your fellow attendees will be a mixture of strategic decision makers for major buying organisations from the public and private sector, along with the key software suppliers.
You will be shown:

• how the pilots of the new BASDA Green XML are delivering billions in savings for their buying organisations
• how suppliers are increasing business and achieving significant efficiency savings whilst making the goods and services they supply carbon neutral
• how BASDA Utilities XML will help drive electronic trading and make significant efficiency savings for large energy buyers and the utilities.

The ski industry is the worst affected industry by climate change and will explain why they are excited by and supporting this initiative which was developed by a former World Cup Ski Racer and Fellow of the RSA who inspired the standards via the 2006 RSA Carbon Limited program.

BASDA Utilities XML has been developed by the major utility companies and the software industry (via, its trade association BASDA) over the last two years. It allows validated utility bills to flow directly into the most popular finance systems and provides the information for Carbon Accounting.

The new Green XML is being launched at the Royal Society of the Arts as one of the inspirations for the new standard was the RSA fellowships pilot program in 2006 Carbon Limited, which showed the participating fellow both how easily savings and sustainability could be achieved on a personal level and the requirement to make it easy for organisations.
