The London Borough of Hillingdon has become the latest large unitary council to sign up to the @UK PLC eMarketplace solution. Over the coming months the councils 8000 suppliers will be signed up to the solution to allow them to receive electronic purchase orders and then send back electronic invoices.
The council uses the Oracle Financial Management System (FMS) and has implemented the Oracle iProcurement solution to act as the desktop purchasing and requisitioning tool. The @UK PLC marketplaces will seamlessly integrate to the iProcurement system via the existing punch-out integration already deployed for the London Borough of Lewisham.
Peter Webb, eProcurement Manager at London Borough of Hillingdon said “We believe the @UK PLC solution represents the best solution for both the council and our suppliers. The @UK PLC system not only has a proven interface to Oracle iProcurement but it allows the transmission of the electronic purchase order and the electronic invoice. It is this electronic invoice integration which is crucial to us, as it is in reducing invoice rekeying that we see the biggest cashable saving coming from eProcurement.”
Simon Lipscomb, National Sales Manager at @UK PLC said “This is a really exciting project for us at @UK PLC. With our third London Borough as a customer we are beginning to create a very compelling infrastructure for all the councils and suppliers in the capital. Over time our aim is to work with London Borough of Hillingdon to allow them to receive 100% of their electronic invoices electronically”
