Forming a Company in the UK

Jun 13, 2018

All you need to know about company formation in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland

Here at @UKPLC Company Registrations we form companies across the UK, inclusive of England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. In today’s blog post, we thought we’d take it back to basics and explain how to form a company.

If you choose to use us as your company formation agent, you can register your company in England, Wales, Northern Ireland or Scotland. Where your company is formed will depend on the location of your registered office address. For example, if your registered office is in England, your company will be registered in England, if your registered office is in Scotland, your company will be registered in Scotland and so on. If required, it’s possible to purchase a registered office service in the country in which you want to form your company if you do not already reside there.

We have a registered office service in Berkshire, London and Scotland

Once you have chosen a country to register your business in, your company’s registered office must remain within that country. The only exception is England and Wales – in this case, your office can be located in either of the two.

When you’re ready to form your UK company, you will need to choose a means of registering it. Whether you choose England, Northern Ireland, Scotland or Wales as your location, you will need to pay fees to Companies House to form your company. Whilst you can go directly to Companies House, you can also choose to use an approved company formation agent, such as us, @UKPLC Company Registrations.

All of our company formation packages include the Companies House fees. However, if you choose us to register your company, you’ll have the added benefit of our excellent, 5-star rated customer service. Depending on the package you select, you’ll also receive useful extras such as our registered office service and printed versions of essential documents like your Certificate of Incorporation.

Additionally, all @UKPLC Company Registrations company formation packages include a free referral to Barclays for a Business Bank Account and upon successful opening of your account within three months, we’ll give you £50 cashback (UK customers only). You’ll also have access to our Company Admin area where you can easily update your company details.
