Update on Statutory Benefit Rates from 6 April 2013

On 27 December 2012 the Department for Work and Pensions announced that the proposed new rates for statutory benefits will be as follows:

  • From 6 April 2013 Statutory Sick Pay will increase by 85p from £85.85 to £86.70. The weekly earnings threshold for SSP will rise from £107 to £109.
  • From 7 April 2013 Statutory Maternity, Paternity and Adoption pay will rise by £1.33 from £135.45 to £136.78. The weekly earnings threshold for these payments will rise from £107 to £109. Additionally Maternity Allowance will also increase from £135.45 to £136.78 with the earnings threshold remaining at £30.
