The Share Capital is the total amount of shares held in a company. If you need to find out the Share capital, there are two places to look:
- The Memorandum of Association which should state the initial share capital (at the time of the formation)
- The latest Annual Return should have a full list of members attached. This should take into account new shares issued or transferred until it was filed. If you do not have a copy, it is possible to obtain one from Companies House for just £1.
