Greenwich Seeks Multiple Partners For £70m IT Deal

The London Royal Borough of Greenwich is looking for multiple suppliers to deliver a complete technology overhaul that is valued at between £50m to £70m.

According to the tender, the authority is in need of new ICT services, networking kit, email systems, servers, printing products and maintenance and repair kit.

The notice says the contract will be divided into six different lots allowing different potential providers to bid for the appropriate parts they are able to deliver.

The first lot will cover network, infrastructure and cabling, while lot two is for a helpdesk and desktop support services.

Application support and management is the third lot and the fourth is IT desktop and server hardware services.

The fifth lot is for a managed data centre hosting service. Finally, lot six covers printer supply, support and maintenance.

The deal is expected to run for a five-year period, with the option for an extension of two years.

Greenwich claims a deal will be made on the basis of the most economically advantageous tender, but has not ruled out the participation of small to medium enterprises (SMEs).

The authority says that “innovative and flexible” prospective partners are being sought, with a passion for ICT and the ability to deliver high quality customer service – therefore, an SME may be suitable for the deal.
