Dynamics CRM Online, the cloud-based customer relationship management (CRM) platform from Microsoft, has been awarded Impact Level 2 (IL2) Accreditation.
According to Microsoft, the accreditation will benefit a good range of UK public sector organisations requiring the ‘protect’ level of protection, such as local and regional government, NHS trusts and central government bodies.
Impact Levels are defined by the Cabinet Office and the National Technical Authority for Information Assurance for UK government; they reflect the sensitivity of information managed in a service, so IL2 is known as ‘protect’ and includes personal information.
The Dynamics platform is designed to help organisations manage relationships with customers and stakeholders, claims the vendor. According to them, it aims to offer flexibility that drives better engagement and greater clarity for citizens in the public sector.
A spokesperson for Microsoft said the accreditation “demonstrates Microsoft’s on-going commitment to the government’s ‘Cloud First’ policy.”
Microsoft claims this accreditation is a key milestone that supports UK government plans to reduce the cost of ICT and its aim for half of new ICT services to be on the cloud by 2015.
An“infopaper” from the company claims The Royal Borough of Kingston, Kent Fire and Rescue and Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust as UK public sector Dynamics CRM Customers.
The software giant already has a range of IL2 accredited offerings on the G-Cloud framework, including Office 365 and Windows Azure.
