cloudBuy To Supply Staffordshire With Care Marketplace

E-commerce and e-procurement company cloudBuy has announced it won a tender to supply Staffordshire County Council with a care marketplace.

The firm’s care marketplace, which is a similar concept to online retail giant Amazon, allows users to buy healthcare services and products online in a more cost-effective way.

“This is a very exciting project that will enable Staffordshire to deliver true personalisation to individuals whether they are funded by the local authority or privately funded,” claimed cloudBuy chairman Ronald Duncan.

It will replace the council’s current “Purple Pages” directory site, a web page listing contact details of third parties who are able to provide care services.

CloudBuy claims the care marketplace will enhance the authority’s functionality by allowing each care service provider to have their own e-commerce website integrated into the Staffordshire Care Marketplace.

The council hopes its new site will help enable people to live independently by allowing them to identify services and providers which best suit their needs and then procure what they need.

By improving its current services with the care marketplace, the council hopes use of its Staffordshire Cares website will increase.  

The contract is set to last for two years with the option to extend it three times in yearly increments. No value has been disclosed.
