Through LUPC, libraries have the support of professional and neutral staff in negotiations with suppliers and in the maintenance of contracts once they have been awarded. LUPC stays on top of legislative developments that affect us and monitors the effectiveness of the agreements.

Libraries benefit greatly from being a member of a large consortium able to negotiate on behalf of all its members, particularly smaller specialist libraries which might not have the financial clout to negotiate favourable deals on their own. My library regards its membership of LUPC as crucial.

This collaborative process has aggregated demand and led to better rates, and a full range of competent suppliers across the complete legal spectrum.
